Join our dynamic team as a Career Services Advisor and Externship Coordinator! This role requires a minimum of 3 years of hands-on Medical Assisting experience. As a vital part of our campus-based team, you will coordinate externship placements for Medical Assisting students while providing career services and employment placement assistance to both Medical Assisting and Nursing students and graduates.
Your responsibilities will include preparing students for the job market through personalized coaching and supporting their transition from training to employment. A key aspect of this position is forging and managing partnerships with local healthcare employers to facilitate externship opportunities and hiring processes, ensuring successful outcomes for our students.
- Manage timely Medical Assisting externship placements by confirming student readiness and site availability.
- Conduct onboarding activities for externship sites and orient students regarding expectations and responsibilities.
- Verify completion of required immunizations, clearances, and documentation in accordance with site guidelines.
- Monitor student attendance and progress throughout the externship, addressing any issues that arise.
- Conduct site visits and evaluations to ensure student learning and compliance with externship requirements.
- Collaborate with faculty and campus leadership to align student support with employer expectations.
- Ensure all externship records comply with accreditation and regulatory standards.
- Provide tailored career coaching, including assistance with resume writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
- Lead job readiness workshops and presentations to enhance students' professional skills for entry-level healthcare positions.
- Support Medical Assisting graduates in securing employment and assist Nursing students with job search efforts.
