ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Business Rates Administrator, you will be tasked with the efficient monthly processing of rates installments for a diverse portfolio that includes commercial, industrial, and retail properties.
This role necessitates regular communication via email and phone with property managers and local councils to guarantee the timely processing and payment of rates installments.
You will collaborate closely with both the rates payable team and the Property Management teams to deliver exceptional service to our clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Establishing and nurturing strong professional relationships with councils and colleagues across the accounting teams and the broader business is crucial for your success. Your initiative and proactive approach will be highly valued.
The role involves handling a high volume of rates processing on behalf of our clients, supporting the Senior Accounts Payable Administrator in ensuring that all tasks are completed punctually and in alignment with internal and client KPIs. This commitment ensures a premier service experience for all Workman clients.
Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational, prioritization, and communication skills, alongside teamwork abilities and a commitment to personal development.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
- Managing a shared inbox
- Preparing monthly installment payments
- Communicating directly with councils regarding specific cases
- Collaborating with various departments
- Understanding business rates, council tax, and BID Levies
- Addressing both internal and external inquiries
- Processing CHAPS payments
Salary Range: £22,500 - £27,000
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU
A proactive, practical, and positive attitude towards work is essential.
Strong and professional communication skills are required, with the ability to cultivate effective working relationships with colleagues across both the accounting teams and the wider organization.
While no formal accounting qualifications are necessary, the following skills are essential:
- Maths and English GCSEs (9-4/A-C)
- Strong Numeracy Skills
- Proficient IT and Software Skills, especially in Microsoft Outlook and Excel
