This pivotal role emphasizes the identification of lucrative opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and securing significant contracts within large-scale solar, rooftop solar, battery energy storage (BESS), and comprehensive clean energy solutions. As a senior professional, you will leverage your extensive market knowledge and commercial insight to effectively influence key decision-makers across corporate, industrial, and governmental sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead initiatives in business development for large-scale renewable energy projects, such as rooftop solar, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Large Scale Solar (LSS), and BESS.
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities to sustain a robust sales pipeline.
- Design and implement go-to-market strategies targeting key sectors including commercial, industrial, utility, and government.
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue high-value opportunities to enhance the company’s project portfolio.
- Craft detailed business cases, feasibility studies, and financial models to support project proposals.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key accounts, new clients, and strategic partners.
- Serve as the primary liaison for high-profile clients, ensuring their trust and satisfaction.
- Represent Solarvest in negotiations, industry events, and associations.
- Navigate the entire sales cycle for complex opportunities, from lead generation through to deal closure.
- Develop business through cross-selling and upselling strategies to maximize client value and strengthen relationships.
- Surpass assigned sales and revenue targets consistently.
- Create structured proposals, bids, and tender submissions.
- Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, project management, finance, and legal) to develop solutions that fulfill client needs.
- Provide market insights and competitive intelligence to guide strategic decisions.
- Mentor and assist junior business development executives in enhancing their pipeline and client management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Energy, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 5–8 years of solid business development or sales experience, with a minimum of 3 years in the renewable energy or infrastructure sectors.
- Comprehensive understanding of renewable energy solutions including solar PV, BESS, PPAs, Feed-in Tariffs (FiT), Net Energy Metering (NEM), Clean Energy Renewable Energy Certificates (CRESS), and carbon credits.
- Proven track record of successfully closing large contracts or forming partnerships.
- Exceptional negotiation, networking, and presentation skills.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, capable of interpreting business cases and ROI models.
- Self-motivated with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives effectively.
