Dane Street is excited to announce the expansion of our physician panel! This remote opportunity offers physicians a chance to earn supplemental income by managing a caseload tailored to their availability. Our panel consists of independent contract reviewers (1099) who are compensated on a per-case basis.
Position Overview
As a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgery Advisor for Disability Peer Review, your role will involve leveraging your clinical expertise to evaluate medical records, providing an independent, professional opinion regarding the claimant’s functional capabilities and any limitations in relation to disability benefits applications or assessments of current disability status. Your determinations will be rooted in the clinical evidence found within the provided medical records.
Key Responsibilities
- Accept and review cases on a contract basis according to your individual schedule, applying client-specific criteria or nationally recognized evidence-based guidelines to assess disability status.
- Deliver clear, concise rationales for your determinations, supported by adequate documentation.
- Utilize current criteria and resources such as national, state, and professional association guidelines to inform objective decision-making and rationales, avoiding reliance on case studies or cohorts.
- Promptly provide a detailed report and any utilized criteria as part of your review.
- Ensure timely completion of cases, adhering to specified due dates and times.
- Conduct peer-to-peer calls as necessary based on client protocols to gather additional information and clarify existing medical records.
- Perform other assigned duties including clarifications, addendums (with additional compensation), and addressing potential quality assurance or regulatory issues.
- Active practice is preferred, and US Board certification is required.
