Position Title: Behavior Intervention Specialist

Hourly Salary: $23.00 - $25.00
The Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) plays a pivotal role in employing behavior analysis techniques to facilitate behavioral improvements for our recuperative care guests, as well as individuals facing developmental and behavioral challenges. Through careful observation and tailored responses to various behaviors, the BIS guides guests in a manner aimed at positively transforming their behavioral patterns, which ultimately aids in enhancing their social interactions and overall situational management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine guest behaviors and implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles.
- Work collaboratively with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) and the Director of Recuperative Care to develop comprehensive behavior support plans.
- Effectively address the unique situations faced by guests experiencing homelessness and other behavioral and developmental obstacles.
- Utilize strong communication skills to deliver constructive feedback to recuperative care guests.
- Document progress through written individual behavior support plans (IBSP) and maintain thorough records of guest behavior and interventions.
- Engage with crisis mobile team members to integrate behavior treatment plans into the lives of recuperative care guests.
- Educate and train staff and guests on the behavior treatment plans during their stay and following transition.
- Recognize critical changes in guest behaviors and respond appropriately with professional techniques.
