As an Automation Technician on the 1st shift, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our automated equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving equipment malfunctions, stopping production when necessary, and conducting troubleshooting and repairs. A solid understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and PLCs is essential for success in this role. All tasks must comply with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up production lines and properly load machinery.
- Operate auto-palletizers and hand jacks efficiently.
- Ensure smooth operation of carton machines, case erectors, and robotic arms.
- Adhere to GMPs, HACCP, and company SOPs.
- Conduct start-up checks to confirm equipment readiness.
- Document code dates, labels, film, and product changes accurately.
- Install, relocate, and maintain machinery as necessary.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on production equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and PLC-related issues.
- Monitor workflow and enhance machine efficiencies.
- Ensure products meet quality specifications and are appropriately labeled.
- Minimize rework and waste in production processes.
- Maintain precise records of production activities and materials used.
- Suggest improvements to boost equipment and process reliability.
- Perform additional duties as required based on operational needs.
