Position Overview: Automation & Controls Engineer
As an Automation & Controls Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and optimizing automated systems that enhance the manufacturing and testing processes for our spacecraft. This role requires a unique blend of hardware and software expertise, allowing you to drive efficiency, scalability, and precision within vital production workflows. Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop tailored automation and software solutions for both new and existing production assets.
- Commission and deploy automation infrastructure while ensuring the maintenance of tools on the production floor.
- Create supervisory tools that integrate sensor systems to monitor processes, uphold operator safety, and assess factory status and performance.
- Design intuitive user interfaces that simplify the control and troubleshooting of complex machinery.
- Implement advanced control strategies (such as PID control) and develop programmable logic controller (PLC) systems to enhance automation precision, repeatability, and responsiveness across production workflows.
- Produce clear process and training documentation to facilitate the adoption and maintenance of automated solutions.
- Generate electrical schematics and documentation to aid system integration and troubleshooting.
