ABOUT THE POSITION
Join a dynamic and skilled Building Consultancy team, where you will engage in a diverse array of tasks ranging from contract and project management to essential services such as Technical Due Diligence (TDD), dilapidations, and fire safety assessments.
This role necessitates consistent, direct communication with institutional fund management clients, landlords, consultants, and tenants.
Our esteemed clientele includes industry leaders such as Columbia Threadneedle, Hammerson, M&G, Lansec, BlackRock, and Federated Hermes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To excel in this position, fostering and maintaining robust professional relationships with clients, tenants, and team members will be crucial. Your proactive approach and initiative will be highly valued.
You will oversee multiple building surveying assignments concurrently for a variety of key clients, requiring adept time management skills and the capacity to provide ongoing updates to clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Understanding client requirements and delivering results that meet their expectations is vital to your success.
Your expertise will be sought for professional advice on dilapidations schedules, pre-acquisition surveys, due diligence, development monitoring, defect diagnosis, fire safety consultations, and condition reports.
Your role may encompass functions of a designer, contract administrator, project manager, or a combination of all three.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Effectively managing projects from inception through to completion.
- Collaborating with landlords and tenants on their ESG initiatives to ensure advice is aligned with sustainable practices and materials.
- Mentoring team members and contributing to the development of less experienced staff, while also taking on leadership roles.
- Adopting a strategic perspective on the lifecycle of property assets and grasping the clear objectives outlined in client briefs.
- Being readily available to identify and pursue new business opportunities, while also being eager to advance your career.
- Inspiring and managing a small team of surveyors, including apprentices and graduates, and providing support for their ongoing studies.
REQUIREMENTS
A proactive, practical, and positive mindset is essential.
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to cultivate a strong reputation among clients are fundamental to this role.
You should hold an MRICS qualification.
Experience in commercial property within a similar consultancy context is preferred.
