The Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement is instrumental in fostering lasting connections between Middlebury College and its alumni community. This pivotal role involves the strategic development of programs, events, and volunteer involvement to enhance alumni relations. The successful candidate will spearhead initiatives within the alumni engagement portfolio and collaborate with colleagues and campus partners to create and implement high-quality on-campus, regional, and virtual programs that encourage meaningful and long-term alumni participation.
This full-time, salaried position offers benefits and has a salary range of $56,702 - $70,908 annually.
Core Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute diverse alumni programs and events, including regional gatherings, virtual events, and select on-campus activities such as Homecoming, Volunteer Weekend, and reunions for various groups.
- Co-manage reunion classes and work with volunteers to develop programming that enhances alumni connections.
- Oversee logistics for all events, ensuring smooth execution regarding venue, catering, transportation, audio/visual needs, signage, and materials.
- Craft communications for event invitations and follow-ups; monitor attendance and engagement metrics using NXT/Raiser’s Edge.
- Evaluate event outcomes and propose enhancements for future programming.
- Build and maintain relationships with alumni leaders and volunteers to support engagement initiatives, effectively representing Middlebury in various settings.
- Collaborate with campus partners to design and implement mutually beneficial engagement opportunities.
