Our attorneys at NYC Parks navigate complex issues related to labor and employment, art and entertainment, First Amendment rights, environmental regulations, land use and real estate, contract negotiations, rule-making, and litigation in municipal, state, and federal courts.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate under general supervision with the freedom to exercise independent judgment in negotiating, drafting, and reviewing agreements on behalf of the Agency, including those related to Agency concessions and the maintenance and operation of park properties and facilities.
- Conduct research and provide legal advice to Agency staff on diverse legal issues concerning the use of Agency property, employment law, land use, and partnerships with nonprofit organizations.
- Collaborate in reviewing and interpreting existing laws, rules, and regulations, as well as preparing new regulations for the Agency.
- Execute legal research and draft memoranda and correspondence for the General Counsel’s Office.
- Work alongside the New York City Law Department on ongoing litigation matters, including discovery and trial preparation.
- Address Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) requests.
