Position Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Area Health Information Specialist II to deliver comprehensive onsite Release of Information (ROI) support. This critical role plays a vital part in patient services and ROI processing, potentially covering multiple client locations as required.
This position is perfect for an individual who is reliable, detail-oriented, empathetic towards patients, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
This role entails full-service ROI support, including but not limited to:
- In-person ROI processing and fulfilling medical record requests
- Assisting walk-in patients with record requests and disclosures
- Creating patient records onto CDs and managing image requests
- Scanning, faxing, and managing inbound/outbound ROI workflows
- Providing call support for patients, providers, attorneys, and requestors
- Data entry, email management, and administrative assistance
- Monitoring fax queues, inboxes, and shared drives
- Providing support at other client locations as assigned
- Traveling between client locations as necessary for coverage
- Collaborating closely with team members and client staff
- Carrying out additional duties as assigned
Training & Onboarding
- Datavant DHISC training
• Hands-on, role-specific training during the first 30 days
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Prior experience in health information management or a similar role is a plus
