AECOM is actively looking for talented individuals to fill the role of Archaeology Field Technician (Levels I to IV). This position will be based in our offices located in London, Barrie, Peterborough, Sault Ste. Marie, Timmins, Mississauga, or Hamilton. These roles are part of a unionized workforce in accordance with the collective agreement with LiUNA.
As a technician, you will play a vital role in supporting archaeological fieldwork (Stages 2–4) under the supervision of a Field Supervisor. Your responsibilities will include artifact recovery, field documentation, and aiding in team leadership and training initiatives. Please note that the position requires travel throughout Ontario and the ability to work in varying weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct archaeological fieldwork under the supervision of a Field Supervisor.
- Identify and recover Indigenous and Euro-Canadian artifacts.
- Adhere to Health and Safety protocols and all AECOM procedures.
- Engage in extensive travel across Ontario for extended periods.
- Assume a junior leadership role during field operations.
- Assist the Field Supervisor with various technical aspects of fieldwork.
- Contribute to the training and development of new team members.
- Model exemplary behavior for teammates and undertake additional tasks as assigned by supervisors or management.
