We are seeking a dedicated Application Support Technician to be the primary on-site representative for applications at our Appledore location. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the seamless operation and proactive support of all business applications. Acting as the first point of contact for application-related issues, you will connect operational teams with our central Enterprise Applications and broader IT organization. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in supporting business applications within an operational or manufacturing context.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the trusted on-site contact for all application-related inquiries, providing first-line support and owning tickets until resolution.
- Develop strong relationships with local teams to comprehend how applications influence site processes, communicating changes, outages, or enhancements effectively.
- Diagnose and escalate application issues to central Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), tracking progress to ensure timely resolutions and stakeholder updates.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of site-specific application usage, workflows, customizations, and dependencies.
- Occasional travel to other sites may be required.
- Work closely with the Site IT Business Partner to ensure alignment across applications, infrastructure, and IT operations.
- Coordinate with Enterprise Applications teams to maintain consistent standards, share knowledge across sites, and contribute to ongoing improvements.
- Support application lifecycle activities including upgrades, testing, patching, integrations, and delivery of enhancements.
- Gather and document local requirements, validate changes, and engage in site and cross-functional projects related to applications, digital transformation, or process optimization.
- Hands-on experience with applications such as SAP, PLM, CAD, CRM, and Risk Management tools is essential.
