About the Role
Wakam is on the lookout for a talented Actuarial Data Scientist or Pricing Actuary to join our dynamic Advanced Pricing Analytics team. This pivotal role merges actuarial pricing with advanced analytics, empowering us to enhance our technical pricing capabilities using AI, machine learning, and automation.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Underwriting, Data, and Product, directly influencing our risk pricing strategies, enhancing portfolio profitability, and driving innovation across our product offerings.
Your Mission
As an Actuarial Data Scientist within our pricing actuarial team, your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, constructing, and maintaining pricing and risk models for a diverse array of P&C insurance products.
- Utilizing machine learning and AI algorithms to boost pricing accuracy and refine risk segmentation.
- Leading forecasting initiatives and aligning insights with broader strategic and financial planning.
- Assessing Wakam’s aggregate risk exposure to pinpoint potential risk accumulation by peril, region, or insured value, ensuring compliance with internal limits and reinsurance treaties.
- Monitoring and analyzing exposure levels across portfolios, focusing on sum insured, policy limits, and risk accumulation across various geographical areas, product lines, and coverages.
- Automating and optimizing the model development lifecycle.
- Ensuring regulatory compliance and contributing to best practices in model governance.
- Mentoring junior team members and cultivating a high-performance analytics culture.
What You Bring
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Proven experience in actuarial science, data science, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in statistical software and programming languages.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
