Position Overview
The Accessioning Specialist II plays a vital role in our team by accessioning samples and managing their lifecycle within Adaptive. This position is primarily lab-based.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Primary Responsibilities
- Receive and accession samples into the Laboratory Information System utilized by Adaptive.
- Identify and assess problematic samples/shipments, determining if escalation is required to other departments or leadership.
- Input, upload, and verify the accuracy and completeness of information related to samples and associated projects across various systems.
- Maintain records of all system transactions pertaining to each managed sample to ensure a documented Chain of Custody (COC).
- Oversee the proper storage and transfer of physical samples throughout their management lifecycle.
- Conduct sample disposition management, including disposal and return.
- Facilitate the check-in and check-out processes of biological samples.
- Ensure timely sample transfers at the appropriate temperature to respective departments.
- Exhibit independence with a solid understanding of processes and exceptional time management skills.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor or senior staff.
- Adhere to document procedures, safety protocols, and laboratory regulations including Good Clinical and Laboratory Practices (GCLP), College of American Pathologists (CAP), and Clinical Laboratory Improvements Amendment (CLIA).
- Fulfill any other duties as required.
