Join Stanbridge University as a dedicated Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC) for the Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program. This full-time faculty position is pivotal in developing, coordinating, and supervising the fieldwork component of our OTA curriculum. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that experiential learning aligns with our academic standards, accreditation requirements, and overall program objectives.
In this collaborative role, you will work alongside fellow AFWCs, fieldwork educators, clinical instructors, and healthcare partners to uphold compliance with ACOTE standards, thus guaranteeing the quality and integrity of fieldwork experiences for our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the OTA fieldwork program in accordance with strategic program goals.
- Ensure fieldwork education aligns with accreditation standards, including:
- Curriculum design and sequencing to enhance the integration of didactic and fieldwork learning.
- Negotiating and establishing agreements with fieldwork sites that reflect curriculum themes and real-world healthcare environments.
- Maintaining a robust network of fieldwork agreements to facilitate timely student graduation.
- Staying informed and compliant with ACOTE standards relating to fieldwork.
- Coordinate all aspects of the fieldwork process, including:
- Identifying and developing fieldwork sites.
- Scheduling fieldwork experiences.
- Managing administrative requirements such as contracts and health record compliance.
- Building strong relationships within the healthcare community.
- Ensure students have up-to-date immunization records as per program and site requirements.
- Develop and sustain collaborative relationships with on-site fieldwork educators, providing training and support to enhance student learning outcomes.
- Guide students in preparation, selection, and success in their fieldwork placements.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of fieldwork experiences through site visits and student feedback.
- Compile regular reports on the fieldwork component of the OTA program.
- Teach courses related to your expertise as assigned, aligned with your primary fieldwork coordination responsibilities.
- Engage in departmental meetings, graduation ceremonies, and university events as required.
- Promote a learning environment that fosters respect, integrity, teamwork, and professionalism.
- Deliver exceptional service to students, faculty, and clinical partners.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Program Director or designated representative.
