JOB SUMMARY
Join our dynamic team at Franklin Mountain Packaging as a 1st Shift Clamp Truck Driver. In this role, you will be crucial in ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of clamp trucks while efficiently managing paper rolls in our production facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
- Safely transport rolls of paper to the corrugator, ensuring buttrolls are prioritized and accurately recorded.
- Develop proficiency in reading corrugator lineups.
- Accurately mark buttrolls with size, diameter, lineal footage, and grade before restocking.
- Unload rolls from trailers and rail cars, diligently checking for any physical damage.
- Operate the clamp truck in compliance with safety standards.
- Complete a clamp truck inspection report at the beginning of each shift and submit maintenance work orders as needed.
- Maintain an organized and clean warehouse environment.
- Submit roll stock tallies to the corrugator supervisor or Scheduling Department.
- Maximize equipment utilization by operating machinery at optimal capacity and speed.
- Adhere to the daily production schedule while recommending optimizations to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals.
- Assist the corrugator operator as directed by supervision.
- Prepare starch as required following company formulas.
- Monitor viscosities on the corrugator and starch station as necessary.
- Accurately document daily starch checklists.
- Oversee the maintenance of the wastewater treatment facility.
- Track inventory levels of starch and chemicals.
- Familiarize yourself with MSDS and proper response protocols for chemical spills or skin contact.
- Assist in the training of wet end personnel for doublebacker and dry end operations.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, particularly regarding safety and housekeeping.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
