The Information Technology team supports Neuralink’s research and development by building and maintaining the systems that power assembly lines, neural recording training, and data processing. This group creates and manages the technical foundation needed for the company’s ambitious goals.
Role overview
The IT Systems Administrator manages the daily technology experience for all Neuralink employees in Austin, Texas. This role covers endpoint management, identity and access management, security policy enforcement, and direct technical support for a wide range of users, including engineers, scientists, and clinicians. Success in this position requires empathy, resourcefulness, and the ability to provide reliable systems and responsive support in a setting where dependable IT is critical.
What you will do
- Provide technical support for macOS, Windows, and Linux platforms as part of a tier-1 support rotation.
- Deploy, configure, and manage endpoint devices using MDM platforms such as Jamf, Intune, or Kandji. Handle application deployment, configuration profiles, and policy enforcement.
- Administer identity provider and IAM systems (Microsoft Entra, Google Workspace, Okta, or similar). Oversee user lifecycle management from onboarding to offboarding.
- Implement and enforce security policies across endpoints, SaaS applications, and corporate systems. Conduct regular audits and remediation.
- Oversee and maintain SaaS applications including Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, and other business tools.
- Perform L1 and L2 network troubleshooting, including resolving connectivity issues, VLAN assignments, and diagnosing Wi-Fi problems.
- Manage endpoint hardware inventory: procurement, asset tagging, deployment, and lifecycle tracking.
- Develop automation and tools using scripting languages (Bash, Python, PowerShell) to improve efficiency in IT operations.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, PII handling requirements, and internal security policies through strong endpoint and access controls.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and operational procedures.
