The IT Infrastructure Project Manager is instrumental in the successful delivery of technology infrastructure for Data Centers and office environments. This pivotal position emphasizes the planning, coordination, and execution of IT connectivity infrastructure, encompassing structured cabling, communications room setups, ELV systems, and network hardware installations.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Technical Coordination
- Work collaboratively with construction teams to establish MDF/IDF room specifications, addressing quantity, layout, cooling, and power requirements.
- Craft designs for passive IT infrastructure, incorporating structured cabling and ELV (extra-low-voltage) systems.
- Engage with network engineers to ensure comprehensive network and Wi-Fi design that aligns with deployment standards.
- Develop comprehensive infrastructure design packages in accordance with client guidelines and participate in design reviews prior to issuing work orders.
- Ensure meticulous planning for network hardware installation (switches, racks, patch panels, etc.).
Project Delivery & Execution
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of IT infrastructure, coordinating with general contractors, cabling vendors, MEP teams, and network engineers.
- Prepare project proposals, RFPs, cost estimates, and preliminary timelines.
- Participate in site meetings, documenting actions and maintaining thorough project records.
- Monitor installation quality and progress across cabling, ELV, networking, and MEP interfaces.
- Utilize project management tools to keep project statuses, risks, issues, changes, and timelines updated.
- Manage alterations in design, change orders, and documentation for project closure.
- Ensure that client specifications are met efficiently and cost-effectively.
Quality & Compliance
- Conduct field inspections and monitor compliance with cabling, MDF/IDF, and network installation standards.
- Maintain structured documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Communicate proactively with stakeholders regarding project milestones and challenges.
