Join Our Dynamic Team as an IT Help Desk Technician I!
BKF Engineers is looking for an enthusiastic IT Help Desk Technician I to provide exceptional front-line support for our technology systems. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about technology and dedicated to delivering excellent customer service. Please note that this is a temporary position, expected to last for six months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for users requesting technical assistance.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues through phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
- Install, configure, and deploy computer systems, peripherals, and software applications.
- Assist users with application challenges and provide guidance to ensure effective software utilization.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of IT equipment and oversee software licensing compliance.
- Document, track, and manage support requests within the help desk ticketing system.
- Offer basic IT training to staff on new technologies.
- Collaborate with senior IT personnel to tackle more complex issues.
- Contribute to IT projects and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Preferred: Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
- 1-2 years of experience in an IT support or help desk role.
- Fundamental knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking.
- Proficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications.
- Outstanding communication skills with a strong focus on customer service.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to remain composed under pressure.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to work onsite and provide support during emergencies or after hours as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to communicate verbally and audibly, as well as operate various IT devices. Occasional lifting of equipment up to 40 pounds may be necessary.
Work Environment:
This position primarily takes place in an office setting, with frequent travel to other locations for technical support. Standard office hours are expected, with flexibility required for after-hours support during critical incidents or system upgrades.
Compensation:
- The expected hourly wage for this position ranges from $23.00 to $30.00, varying based on qualifications, experience, education, and geographical location. This is an hourly position paid bi-weekly.
- As a temporary role, this position does not offer benefits beyond those mandated by California law.
