Role Overview: iOS Software Engineer – Electronic Flight Bag (EFB)
This hybrid role is based in San Carlos. The iOS Software Engineer joins the mobile team to build iOS applications, primarily for iPad, that power Beacon AI’s flight safety platform. The work centers on developing features that pilots and operators rely on, with a focus on usability and precision.
What You Will Do
- Work alongside senior engineers and designers to deliver new features for iOS EFB applications
- Develop software that handles large aviation datasets, such as wind and weather data, with high performance
- Build and refine aviation instrument displays for accuracy and speed
- Integrate with external devices and enable advanced map navigation and location services
- Design for reliability in offline and low-connectivity environments, ensuring critical features remain available
- Contribute to robust, production-ready systems that support real-time, safety-critical operations
What Matters for This Role
- Experience developing iOS applications, especially for iPad
- Background in Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) apps or similar aviation software
- Familiarity with handling large datasets and optimizing performance
- Knowledge of map navigation, location services, and device integration
