About the Opportunity
As a Senior iOS Engineer on the Applied Foundations team, you will be instrumental in crafting core mobile experiences that empower users to sign up, manage their accounts, access family features, make payments, ensure safety, and confidently engage with OpenAI’s products. This role focuses on developing high-quality mobile applications as well as reusable iOS components that various product teams rely on to expedite their projects while adhering to the highest standards of security, reliability, and user trust. You will manage intricate client-side systems, including UI, networking, local state, payment integrations, and Apple platform integrations while collaborating closely with backend, product, and safety teams to design the architecture that supports OpenAI’s mobile ecosystem at a global level.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Develop and deploy innovative iOS experiences that leverage the potential of AI.
Enhance app performance, reliability, and responsiveness on a global scale.
Create and uphold shared iOS frameworks and components for account management, trust, and commerce processes utilized across OpenAI’s mobile applications.
Establish comprehensive testing frameworks and optimize app architecture for future maintainability.
Collaborate with product, design, research, and backend teams to deliver impactful features.
Provide technical direction to influence the evolution of OpenAI’s iOS platform.
You Will Excel in This Role If You:
Possess 4+ years of experience in professional software engineering.
Have a strong history of developing high-quality iOS applications in production, particularly for systems that demand reliability and resilience.
Have experience managing complex, mission-critical mobile systems throughout their lifecycle.
Have a solid understanding of making architectural decisions within iOS development.
Are eager to innovate and tackle challenges in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
