Qualifications

University degree in Electrical EngineeringRegistered (or eligible for registration) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC) or another recognized Professional Engineering Association in Canada (P. Eng preferred)A minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy industryComprehensive understanding of industrial production issuesWillingness to work outside of the office on occasionPreferred Technical Skills:Proficiency in 2D drafting using AutoCADKnowledge of instrumentation and field wiring for control systemsExperience with calculations such as cable pull, heat trace, voltage drop, and cable sizingDesign skills for heat trace and cable traysExpertise in control panel designPower system modeling, including load flow, short circuit analysis, protection coordination, and arc flash studiesGrounding studies and designSetting parameters for protection relays and variable frequency drives (VFDs)Experience with power distribution equipment

The Intermediate Industrial Electrical Engineer will oversee a diverse range of multidisciplinary projects and electrical studies. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on independent work and is enthusiastic about building business relationships within the local industrial sector. Occasional travel to industrial sites throughout Western Canada may be required. This position can be based in our offices located in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, or Saskatoon.

  • Engage in all phases of projects
  • Design and develop technical solutions
  • Create detailed drawings and specifications
  • Prepare equipment specifications
  • Coordinate efforts among various stakeholders
  • Provide technical assistance to clients
  • Review proposals and make procurement recommendations
  • Participate in site assessments
