CIMA+ is seeking a skilled Intermediate Electrical Engineer to enhance our growing Infrastructure team in our Calgary, Edmonton, or Vancouver offices.
We are looking for a proactive professional with around 7 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably with a focus on municipal water/wastewater or industrial infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will possess robust technical design skills, strong project coordination expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary design team, assisting the Project Manager and Senior Engineers in electrical design tasks.
- Create designs for electrical power distribution systems, including single-line diagrams, site power layouts, motor control schematics, standby/emergency power systems, lighting layouts, and general power distribution plans.
- Assist in developing Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) designs for SCADA monitoring and control systems, covering control panels, P&IDs, process control narratives, I/O lists, instrumentation selection, and communication network diagrams.
- Prepare detailed designs, calculations, technical specifications, and contract documents for municipal infrastructure facilities, such as water and wastewater treatment plants and pump stations.
- Contribute to design reports, technical memoranda, cost estimates, tender documents, and construction drawings.
- Engage in field investigations, site inspections, and condition assessments to support design and construction activities.
- Review shop drawings and assist with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Support contract administration tasks, including responding to RFIs, evaluating change orders, and monitoring construction progress to ensure compliance with contract documents.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, regulatory authorities, and internal project stakeholders.
