This Integration and Test Engineer (Software) position is based in Sydney and centers on supporting hardware-focused capabilities for multi-domain unmanned systems, especially Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs). The role covers the full product lifecycle, from initial architecture and design through delivery, ongoing support, and future upgrades. Work involves both software and hardware, with a strong focus on practical testing and integration.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers and specialists throughout the design, integration, and testing phases of AUV projects.
- Assist in designing and integrating subsystems and components for AUVs, emphasizing electrical systems and software.
- Develop, build, and operate integration environments to advance system capabilities.
- Write software to automate testing for hardware and software systems, including creating test frameworks and tools for data analysis.
- Debug and resolve issues related to electrical and software integration.
- Prepare, review, and execute test plans for internal teams and clients to evaluate AUV platforms and new features.
- Provide expert support for test operations, including pre-mission testing, vehicle tasking, and results analysis.
- Support field activities such as debugging, repairs, operation, and maintenance of AUVs.
- Travel to field sites for nearshore and offshore testing, up to 20% of the time.
