About the job
At HyperLight, we are pioneering the commercialization of thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) integrated photonics—a transformative material and process technology that enables high-performance, scalable optical components across various sectors including AI/datacom infrastructure, hyperscale computing, quantum computing, and sensing. Established in 2018 and supported by top-tier venture capital, we have cultivated a dedicated team focused on the real-world mass deployment of TFLN photonics technology.
Central to our mission is the TFLN Chiplet™ platform—a modular, integrated architecture optimized for scalability, manufacturability, and seamless integration into complex systems. This platform provides an exceptional blend of high performance and industrial readiness, allowing system developers to swiftly implement our technology across diverse applications. We collaborate closely with our customers and suppliers from initial conceptualization and design through to prototyping and mass production, ensuring the efficient and rapid deployment of TFLN photonic technology.
We believe that our platform is a key driver in the golden age of integrated photonics, empowering humanity to reach new heights. Our world-class team, which encompasses engineering, business, and operations, thrives on challenges and is unified by a commitment to integrity, innovation, collaboration, and practical solutions. We take pride in addressing complex challenges with curiosity, humility, and a genuine care for one another.
As HyperLight continues to grow, we are seeking an Integrated Photonics Summer PhD Intern. This internship presents a unique chance to engage with the technical aspects of our integrated photonics products. Your responsibilities will include measuring and testing our products at the chip, module, and system levels, enhancing test capabilities by developing new functionalities and setups, and contributing to the development of next-generation products. This is an exceptional opportunity to dive into the cutting-edge world of photonics while gaining invaluable experience in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
If you are a driven individual who values excellence and continuous learning and is committed to supporting your teammates, we invite you to apply!
