WHAT YOU BRINGHardware Design Experience: Extensive background in hardware design and development, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and component selection. Debugging & Validation Skills: Proven experience in validating hardware at electrical, signal integrity, protocol, and functional levels, with proficiency in high-speed oscilloscopes and differential probes. Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of major bus technologies, including PCIe, DDR, NAND, SPI, and I2C. Automation: Solid experience in employing scripting languages like Python and BASH to enhance design and validation processes.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Hardware Design Engineer to become an integral part of our Datastore team. Your expertise will be essential in developing Pure’s cutting-edge, high-performance, and energy-efficient storage solutions. You will oversee hardware designs from inception through to production, playing a vital role in shaping the future of data storage technology. Your contributions will span all phases of the product lifecycle, including architecture, validation, and sustaining engineering.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead Hardware Design: Strategically plan, implement, and troubleshoot SSD hardware designs from concept to production.
  • Drive Interoperability & Debugging: Conduct interoperability testing among server/storage systems and SSDs, diagnosing hardware-related issues in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
  • Conduct Failure Analysis: Spearhead failure analysis and root cause investigations to address field issues and customer escalations.
  • Enhance Processes: Utilize your knowledge of key bus technologies such as PCIe, DDR, and NAND to assess system-level trade-offs, applying automation and AI to refine SSD design and validation processes.
