Qualifications:Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and a commitment to obtaining a credential (provided by the program) within 18 months of hire, or certification in Social Services or a related field. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age and possess reliable transportation. Additionally, a minimum of six college credit hours or an Infant/Toddler CDA is required, along with a willingness to pursue Early Childhood Development Specialization Certification from Ozarks Tech (cost covered by the employer). Experience working with infants and toddlers is essential. Preferred Qualifications:A degree in Social Work or a related field is preferred. A copy of your transcript is required at the time of application.

Position: Infant/Toddler Teacher Assistant & Family Advocate (Early Head Start)

Location: Buffalo Early Head Start, Buffalo, MO

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM. Duties are split between classroom support and family advocacy.

Application Deadline: May 1st, 2026, at 4 PM

What You Will Do

  • Support classroom teaching alongside two other teachers, providing primary care for two to three infants or toddlers in a classroom of up to eight children (ages birth to two years).
  • Engage daily with staff and children, helping to create a relationship-focused and supportive environment.
  • Act as a Family Advocate, using a case management approach to connect families with staff, community resources, and family services.
  • Assist with recruiting and enrolling children and families, building and maintaining positive relationships throughout the process.
