The Economist Group is on the lookout for a skilled and security-focused Identity & Access Management (IAM) Engineer to lead and enhance our identity framework. This pivotal role bridges IT operations, security, and HR technology, ensuring that our workforce has appropriate access at all times while maintaining stringent controls.
The Role
In this position, you will oversee and optimize our identity and access management systems, including Active Directory, Okta, and AWS IAM, while seamlessly integrating them with our HR system, HiBob, to automate the employee lifecycle processes. You will work in a dynamic IT environment, contributing to a secure and efficient digital workplace that supports both on-premises and cloud infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Active Directory, Azure AD, Okta Workforce Identity, and AWS IAM accounts, groups, and roles. Design and implement automated identity lifecycle workflows synchronized with HiBob HRIS data.
- Apply least-privilege and zero-trust principles across identity systems and applications.
- Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams to fulfill audit, access review, and regulatory obligations.
- Develop and maintain IAM documentation, including architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and user manuals.
- Diagnose and resolve authentication and provisioning issues across single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and federated applications.
- Contribute to change management processes, ensuring smooth deployment of identity-related updates.
- Support IT service management (ITSM) processes for access requests, approvals, and escalations using Jira Service Management.
- Identify opportunities to enhance automation, governance, and reporting through scripting (Python, PowerShell, or similar).
