By leveraging Kunin Technologies’ groundbreaking mass-manufacturable nano-separation systems, we aim to significantly enhance value extraction from each resource, minimize waste, and invigorate domestic production of critical minerals.

YOUR MISSION FOR YEAR 1

You will spearhead the development of hydrometallurgical flowsheets for the recovery of critical minerals across various process streams, focusing on the integration of leaching, ion exchange (IX), solvent extraction (SX), precipitation, crystallization, and electrowinning unit operations.

By the conclusion of 2026, we anticipate the following achievements:

  • Successful delivery, installation, and operation of two in-field pilot projects.
  • Creation of an integrated mass balance, equilibria, and kinetics model that informs dynamic cost and design decisions.

WHAT YOU WILL LEAD

  • Creation of hydrometallurgical flowsheets encompassing leaching, solid–liquid separation, ion exchange, solvent extraction, precipitation, crystallization, electrowinning, polishing, and effluent management.
  • Conducting hands-on laboratory experiments to optimize kinetics, selectivity, throughput, purity, and regeneration chemistry for Kunin’s separation systems and integrated flowsheets.
  • Executing pilot tests of hydrometallurgical unit operations to validate bench-scale results.
  • Developing process cost models that translate key process equilibria, mass transfer, and reaction rates into value model assumptions.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with the ion-exchange media team on resin and reagent selections and with the process controls development team on operational parameters.
  • Scaling flowsheets from bench to pilot and ultimately to commercial deployment.
  • Identifying, vetting, and selecting key process technology vendors from pilot through commercialization.
  • Leading partnerships and joint-research collaborations with National Laboratories, universities, and corporate R&D teams.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Extractive Metallurgy, or Hydrometallurgy.
