Hydraulics Project Engineer

We are looking for a Hydraulics Project Engineer to spearhead hydraulic and stormwater management design for transportation and infrastructure projects. In this role, you will lead hydraulic design initiatives, provide technical guidance on hydraulic design (BSR/CSR), manage storm drainage systems, and oversee erosion control for linear transportation and infrastructure projects. You will collaborate across various disciplines, manage project deliverables, and ensure compliance with NCDOT and FHWA standards.

Location

This position is available at any of our North Carolina locations (Charlotte, Raleigh, Wilmington) and follows a hybrid work schedule.

Your Impact
  • Lead and mentor junior staff, promoting their technical growth and professional development.
  • Oversee hydrology and hydraulic analysis for transportation project design and construction.
  • Review and approve stormwater management systems and pond designs.
  • Manage hydraulic culvert and bridge design and permitting processes.
  • Provide strategic guidance on erosion and sediment pollution control designs.
  • Ensure quality control and compliance with NCDOT standards and the FHWA Hydraulic Design Manual.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project success.
