Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Transportation concentration) from an ABET-accredited college.5 to 7 years of relevant experience. Preferably possess an EIT Certificate (or the ability to obtain within 12 months); a PE License is a plus. Strong communication and organizational skills. Experience with MicroStation, AutoCAD, OpenRoads, and Civil 3D. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word & Excel). Experience with Hydrologic and Hydraulic modeling software is a plus. Familiarity with VDOT and local government projects and software. Desire to work in a team environment.

LaBella Associates is on the lookout for a talented Highway Engineer to join our Richmond, VA office. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about transportation engineering and looking to make a significant impact on our community.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a dynamic team on diverse transportation engineering projects, including roadways, trails, and pedestrian pathways.
  • Assist in the design of horizontal and vertical alignments, drainage systems, traffic signs, pavement markings, and conduct safety assessments, all under the guidance of a senior highway engineer.
  • Engage in report preparation, field investigations, inspections, and project renderings.
  • Participate in meetings and conferences as required.

Your Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation from an ABET-accredited institution is required.

  • 5 to 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Possession of an EIT Certificate is preferred (or the ability to obtain within 12 months); PE License is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.
  • Proficient in software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, OpenRoads, and Civil 3D.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Experience with Hydrologic and Hydraulic modeling software is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with VDOT and local government projects and their design software is preferred.
  • A strong desire to work collaboratively in a team environment.
