Position Summary

DLR Group is in search of a skilled Medical Planner to help conceptualize transformative, human-centered healthcare environments across diverse project scales. This role will see you take the lead in design and planning for strategic facility master planning and complex healthcare initiatives, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and guiding clients through every stage of the design process—from initial programming to final execution.

As an integral member of our design team, you will work alongside architects, interior designers, engineers, and sustainability specialists to create innovative care environments that enhance patient outcomes, optimize clinical workflows, and promote community health. This leadership position is client-facing, emphasizing both project quality and thought leadership within the healthcare sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive planning concepts, functional programs, and strategic medical space planning for healthcare projects.
  • Translate clinical needs, workflows, and operational objectives into architectural solutions by engaging with users, administrators, and leadership.
  • Lead user group meetings and stakeholder workshops, employing evidence-based and patient-centered design methodologies.
  • Oversee medical planning deliverables, ensuring compliance with clinical operations, FGI Guidelines, ADA, NFPA, and other relevant regulations.
