Position Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic Health Information Specialist to assist with front desk operations and Release of Information (ROI) services at our healthcare facility. This position is patient-facing and plays an essential role in ensuring that medical record requests are handled in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys direct interaction with patients, possesses a keen eye for detail, and is eager for long-term career advancement opportunities within a healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Act as the front desk point of contact for patients requesting medical records or releases
  • Provide telephone support to patients, healthcare providers, and authorized requestors
  • Accurately and promptly process Release of Information (ROI) requests
  • Handle incoming and outgoing medical record requests through faxing, scanning, and management
  • Burn medical images onto CDs and share them electronically as needed
  • Support client relationship management through effective communication
  • Assist with reporting and administrative tasks, including data entry and email correspondence
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, privacy regulations, and facility policies

Training & Onboarding

  • VROI training will be provided
  • On-the-job, onsite training will be conducted during the first 30 days
