JOB SUMMARY: The Head Start Family Service Partner plays a vital role in enriching the lives of families served by the Inter-Tribal Council of Nevada. This position focuses on delivering Family Support Services, effectively coordinating and engaging families throughout their journey within the ITCN Program, all while adhering to Head Start Performance Standards. You will work under the guidance of the Head Start Lead Teacher and in close collaboration with the Family Services Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Foster respectful and supportive partnerships with families to enhance their quality of life and community involvement.
  • Conduct outreach initiatives, including door-to-door recruitment, and maintain accurate documentation of ongoing recruitment efforts.
  • Provide comprehensive orientation on the Program’s Philosophy and Services.
  • Build and sustain trust-based relationships with families.
  • Utilize effective communication through both verbal and nonverbal methods, employing reflective listening skills.
  • Implement strategies such as home visits to gain insights into families and adapt to the evolving community.

Support families in achieving their personal goals.

Indicators: As a Head Start staff member, you will be expected to showcase the following abilities:

  • Create strength-based assessments alongside families, outlining their goals, strengths, resources, support networks, and service needs.
  • Collaboratively develop individualized family plans with each family.
  • Facilitate problem-solving for families and impart essential problem-solving skills.
  • Act as an advocate for families, empowering them to advocate for themselves.
  • Conduct follow-ups with families to ensure continued support and progress.
