About The Role

As the Head of Talent at Lightfield, you will play a critical role in shaping our engineering and design teams from the ground up. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for the entire recruitment process, focusing on attracting and hiring exceptional talent that will elevate our organization. Your primary objective will be to establish a robust talent strategy, develop a comprehensive recruitment playbook, and secure high-caliber individuals who can drive 10× outcomes in our early-stage startup environment.

What You’ll Own

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment efforts for engineering, design, and business roles—refining the pitch and successfully closing top-tier machine learning, infrastructure, and product engineers.

  • Define the talent strategy and enhance the employer brand—articulating what excellence looks like at Lightfield, crafting engaging narratives, and establishing us as the premier destination for aspiring builders.

  • Create a data-driven sourcing engine—developing repeatable recruitment pipelines through outbound strategies, referrals, events, and community engagement.

  • Architect recruitment processes—implementing effective tools and processes across the ATS and communication channels to ensure a seamless candidate experience.

  • Enhance candidate experience—facilitating a smooth and respectful process that turns skeptics into advocates, regardless of hiring outcomes.

  • Collaborate with leadership—coaching hiring managers on calibration, interviewing techniques, and closing strategies; providing regular insights on recruitment funnel health and time-to-hire metrics.

  • You bring 4+ years of full-cycle recruitment experience with a strong emphasis on scaling early-stage engineering teams.

  • You possess a keen understanding of the technology landscape and are adept at identifying exceptional talent that can thrive in a dynamic startup environment.

  • You are a strategic thinker and an exceptional communicator who can foster relationships and inspire candidates and hiring managers alike.
