About the job
In the role of Head of Engineering Quality, you will occupy a pivotal leadership position, tasked with ensuring that all technical outputs adhere to the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance throughout the entire product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Your quality oversight encompasses all four fundamental technical aspects of our products. You will be accountable for the quality across all engineering functions outlined below:
- Hardware: Guaranteeing the quality and reliability of electronic design.
- Firmware: Supervising the quality of the low-level embedded software that manages the hardware.
- Software: Ensuring the quality, robustness, security, and performance of application-level software (e.g., operating system, user interface, cloud connectivity).
- Mechanical: Assuring the quality, durability, and precision of product casings, structural components, connectors, and internal mountings.
- Process Establishment and Audit: You will be responsible for creating a dedicated Quality Management System and Design for Quality/Reliability procedures that govern the engineering lifecycle from requirements definition to product release. Additionally, you will conduct audits to ensure adherence by the engineering team.
- Raising Quality Standards: This includes defining, documenting, and enforcing the quality criteria and Key Performance Indicators for all engineering teams, fostering continuous improvement and elevating the baseline for product quality over time.
- Continuous Improvement: Implementing feedback mechanisms (e.g., root cause analysis of failures, field performance evaluations, defect tracking) to identify systemic issues and instigate changes in design, development, and testing processes.
- You will act as the Single Point of Contact for all internal and external engineering quality audits and customer reviews:
- Internal Audits: Coordinating and presenting engineering evidence to internal quality teams or management to demonstrate compliance with established internal processes and standards.
- External Audits: Representing the engineering organization during audits conducted by customers, regulatory authorities, or certification agencies (e.g., ISO, IATF, ASPICE, CMMI). This requires in-depth knowledge of all engineering documentation, test reports, and quality metrics.
