We are currently seeking Graduate Cable Design Engineers to join our Power Transmission & Distribution Cable Design Engineering team in the UK. The available office locations are Glasgow and Horsham, with a preference for candidates who can work from the Glasgow office.

Your Role
United Infrastructure is dedicated to nurturing talent and recognizes the critical role of a skilled Cable Design Engineering team in ensuring future success across the organization and the Energy and Materials sectors we serve.
As a Graduate Cable Design Engineer, you will gain exposure to various aspects of the business, developing essential skills. Initially, you will concentrate on the technical design of assets but will quickly engage with and support the planning and construction phases in collaboration with our operational teams. Our Engineering division is involved in Tendering, Material Procurement and Control, enhancing safety through design, and identifying innovative approaches to ensure the sustainability of construction projects. You will have the opportunity to participate in the entire project lifecycle, thus cultivating the necessary attributes to fulfill the Engineering Council's requirements for Chartered Engineers.
In your role, you will be supported in developing your skills to take responsibility for:
- Creating UGC systems design studies under guidance to support construction and consultancy projects, including:
- Preparation of Cable System Design Summary reports.
- Development of Cable Rating reports.
- Calculation of Cable Bonding schemes and Induced Voltage.
- Assessment of Cable Forces in various scenarios.
