Position Overview
As a Government Strategy Advisor, you will spearhead client engagements and advisory relationships across a diverse array of central government departments. Your strategic acumen and policy expertise will be pivotal in addressing significant issues in UK public policy, including spending reviews, departmental strategies, major program implementations, and governmental reforms.
Key Responsibilities
Lead strategic advisory projects for senior government officials, including Permanent Secretaries, Directors General, and Ministers.
Deliver comprehensive analysis, strategy documents, and policy recommendations that consider the political landscape and operational realities of government.
Cultivate strong, trusted relationships with senior civil servants while maintaining an acute awareness of the political and policy environment.
Drive business development by uncovering opportunities within established client relationships and supporting proposals for new projects.
Mentor junior advisors and engage in the firm's thought leadership and intellectual growth.
Candidate Profile
7–12 years of experience in public policy, civil service, management consulting (public sector specialization), or a senior advisory role within government.
Deep understanding of central government operations, including Ministerial accountability, HMT processes, and cross-departmental collaboration.
Exceptional written communication skills, capable of producing Ministerial submissions, strategic documents, and board-level presentations.
