Design user-friendly frameworks, playbooks, and toolkits that empower People Partners and managers to manage ER issues independently, including grievances, disciplinary actions, performance management, redundancies, and sickness absence. Serve as a subject matter expert for complex or sensitive ER cases as needed.

Role Overview: Global Employee Relations Lead (12 Month FTC)

This 12-month fixed-term contract calls for an experienced Employee Relations Manager to strengthen Checkout.com’s global ER strategy. The focus is on building and improving frameworks, not on day-to-day case management. The person in this role will design systems, tools, and policies that help the People team handle ER matters at scale.

Collaboration with colleagues across regions is central. The role centers on enabling others, rather than direct casework. Success means equipping the People team with the resources and knowledge to manage employee relations consistently and effectively worldwide.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and refine global employee relations frameworks, policies, and tools
  • Support the People team in managing ER issues at scale
  • Integrate technology and AI into ER practices to improve efficiency and compliance
  • Balance legal requirements with practical business needs in all ER guidance
  • Simplify complex ER scenarios and communicate solutions clearly

What We’re Looking For

  • Extensive experience in employee relations, ideally in a global context
  • Strong understanding of business operations and organizational needs
  • Ability to design and implement ER strategies and frameworks
  • Comfort with technology and interest in using AI to enhance ER processes
  • Clear, practical communicator who can make complex topics accessible
