About the job

The Global Benefits Program Manager at Xero leads the planning and delivery of employee benefits across the U. S., EMEA, and APAC regions. This position translates strategy into practical plans, making sure benefits programs are scalable and executed with attention to detail. Managing relationships with vendors and brokers is a core responsibility, along with upholding compliance and ensuring programs remain competitive in each market.

Collaboration is central to this role. The Program Manager works closely with global brokers, external vendors, and internal teams to keep benefits accessible and effective. The impact is direct: employees in every region receive support through benefits that are compliant and appealing.

Team Collaboration

The Benefits team at Xero designs and manages offerings that promote employee health, financial security, and overall protection. Team members work together to keep programs cost-effective and user-friendly. Regular collaboration takes place with the Director of Global Benefits, Global Benefits Advisor, and colleagues in Compensation, People Systems, Payroll, Legal, and Finance.

Key Focus Areas

  • Oversee the migration to Workday for benefits configuration and carrier integrations.
  • Create playbooks and self-service processes for People Experience teams.
  • Support the launch of an AI-driven benefits application to automate and improve employee support.

Work Location and Schedule

Xero offers a flexible hybrid work model. The team seeks candidates based in Pacific Time who can commute to the San Mateo office (1875 South Grant Street) once or twice a month for in-person collaboration. This approach blends remote work flexibility with opportunities to connect with global colleagues across time zones.

Requirements

  • Experience managing global benefits programs, with a strong background in U. S. benefits and ideally exposure to APAC and EMEA regions.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, particularly with Workday benefits configuration and integrations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage vendor relationships and deliver quality results.
