Your Role
We are in search of a talented and imaginative Gameplay Narrative Systems Engineer to design and develop cutting-edge Cinematic and Narrative Tooling within the Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) framework. This crucial position entails extending and customizing the core systems of UE5 to craft emotionally impactful, high-quality, and deeply interactive storytelling experiences. The ideal candidate possesses a robust understanding of high-level engine features, extensive C++ expertise, and a genuine passion for digital storytelling.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the Cinematic Pipeline: Create, implement, and optimize authoring tools and runtime systems for in-game cinematic sequences and scripted events, ensuring fluid transitions and high-performance playback.
- Sequencer Proficiency: Enhance and adapt Unreal Engine's Sequencer tool to fulfill complex narrative and production requirements.
- Advanced Camera Systems: Design sophisticated, reusable, and customizable in-game Camera Systems for both gameplay and cinematic experiences, incorporating dynamic blending, procedural controls, and virtual cinematography tools.
- Facial Animation & Dialog Integration: Seamlessly integrate and optimize Facial Animation Technology and Dialog Systems, ensuring narrative audio, lip-sync, and facial expressions are finely tuned to actor performances.
- Empower Content Creators: Collaborate closely with Animation, Narrative, and Level Design teams to streamline their workflows, ensuring our tools are user-friendly, stable, and highly efficient.
- Performance and Stability: Analyze and optimize cinematic and narrative code paths to maintain high frame rates and stability, particularly under high-fidelity rendering conditions.
