The Game Engine team is tasked with enhancing and optimizing RuneTek, our versatile game engine, with a strong emphasis on rendering technologies that facilitate the development of our gaming platform.
As a vital member of the Game Engine Team, you will be instrumental in delivering sophisticated technical solutions, collaborating closely with our production and game development teams to help bring Jagex’s creative vision to life.
Your Responsibilities:
- Enhance and maintain engine technology and shared libraries across core subsystems.
- Deliver maintainable, production-ready C++ code that aligns with team standards and best practices.
- Take ownership of features of moderate scope and complexity, from design to completion.
- Contribute to the creation of scalable, robust, high-availability systems that support live games.
- Identify and implement performance and workflow enhancements across engine technology.
- Collaborate effectively within an agile team to deliver business and player value.
- Assist in evaluating third-party and in-house solutions to determine the best fit.
- Research and apply cutting-edge technologies to translate innovative ideas into actionable engine improvements.
