Join Allium: Pioneering Blockchain Data Solutions
Taming the Chaos of Blockchain Data
At Allium, we believe that blockchain data should be accessible, clear, and efficient. Since our inception in late 2021, we have recognized the complexities surrounding blockchain data, which, despite being public and free, is often cumbersome to interpret and manage. For example, answering a simple query like “Who are the biggest Ethereum token holders over time?” typically requires substantial engineering effort, including running RPC nodes, ingesting large datasets, and performing extensive data transformations.
Overcoming the Challenges of Data Access
The inherent structure of blockchains has traditionally favored Writes (data entry) over Reads (data retrieval). This design choice was made to enhance transaction throughput and build robust consensus algorithms. Consequently, extracting reliable data at scale has become a significant challenge.
The Need for Expertise in Blockchain Data
Parsing and interpreting blockchain data necessitates both specialized knowledge and advanced data manipulation skills. As noted by Columbia Professor Tim Roughgarden, “Blockchains are (virtual) computers, not databases.” This complexity gives rise to diverse data schemas tailored for specific applications, making standardization crucial yet difficult. Our team is dedicated to transforming intricate technical outputs into comprehensible insights on concepts like tokens, NFTs, stablecoins, and decentralized exchanges (DEXs).
Allium: Simplifying Blockchain Data Queries
Allium is committed to streamlining the chaos of blockchain data through our innovative approach to data ingestion, sanitization, and standardization. To date, we have archived data from over 100 blockchains, accumulating petabytes of information and continuously expanding.
A Mission to Organize Blockchain Data
Just as Google and Bloomberg organized the world’s public financial and web data, Allium is on a mission to do the same for blockchain data. We are at a pivotal moment in history where indexing vast public datasets is essential for industry advancement, and we are proud to support innovators and contribute to the growth of this sector.
