toloka-ai, in partnership with Mindrift, offers flexible project-based work for experienced Data Scientists who want to help shape AI systems. This freelance engagement is remote, with a base in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom. Contributors work alongside leading technology companies to test, evaluate, and improve AI models.
Role overview
This role centers on designing and documenting data science challenges that mirror real-world analytical problems from industries such as telecom, finance, government, e-commerce, and healthcare. The work involves creating computationally intensive tasks that require Python solutions, using libraries like Pandas, Numpy, Scipy, Sklearn, Statsmodels, Matplotlib, and Seaborn. Each challenge should be deterministic, reproducible, and grounded in practical business scenarios.
What you will do
- Design data science problems reflecting real-world business needs, such as customer analytics, risk assessment, fraud detection, forecasting, and optimization.
- Create tasks involving complex data processing, statistical analysis, feature engineering, predictive modeling, and insight generation.
- Develop computational challenges that cannot be solved manually in a reasonable timeframe.
- Cover the entire data science workflow: data ingestion, cleaning, exploratory analysis, modeling, validation, and deployment considerations.
- Include big data scenarios and scalable computational approaches.
- Validate solutions in Python using standard statistical techniques.
- Document each problem clearly, provide realistic business context, and supply verified solutions.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on data science experience with demonstrable business impact.
- Portfolio of completed projects or publications showing real-world problem-solving.
- Expert Python programming skills for data science, including Pandas, Numpy, Scipy, Sklearn, and Statsmodels.
- Advanced knowledge of statistical analysis and machine learning algorithms.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with database operations.
- Experience with Generative AI technologies (LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, prompt engineering, vector databases).
- Familiarity with MLOps practices and workflows for model deployment.
- Knowledge of frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and LangChain.
- Excellent written English at C1 level or higher.
How to apply
- Submit your application and CV in English.
- Complete the required qualification steps.
- Join a project and carry out assigned tasks.
