Role Overview: Founding Sales Development Representative

This is tierzero’s first dedicated outbound sales hire. The CEO currently leads all sales efforts, but we’re ready for someone who thrives on building a sales pipeline from scratch. No playbook, no inherited leads, just the chance to create the foundation for our sales process alongside the founding team.

Expect to experiment, iterate, and shape the way we reach engineering leaders at top tech companies. Every outreach and meeting will help define tierzero’s future sales strategy.

What You Will Do

Build the Sales Pipeline

  • Source and engage prospects through cold calling, cold emailing, and creative outreach to engineering teams at Series C and later companies.
  • Research target accounts to map org structures and identify decision-makers, whether that’s an Engineering Manager, VP of Engineering, or a skeptical Staff Engineer.
  • Design and test multi-step outbound sequences, refining messaging and calls-to-action based on what works.
  • Communicate in clear, technical language that resonates with engineers, not just marketing terms.

Establish Outbound Sales Processes

  • Work with the founding team to define ideal customer profiles, target personas, and buying triggers through hands-on experimentation.
  • Develop frameworks to qualify leads and decide which meetings to pursue.
  • Set up dashboards, KPIs, and a repeatable approach to pipeline development.
  • Document successful strategies for future team members as the sales function grows.
