The Role

Join us as a pioneering Forward Deployed Engineer at rowspace, where you'll operate at the nexus of advanced technical expertise and impactful customer engagement. In this role, you will manage the technical aspects of customer relationships following sales, integrate seamlessly into their workflows, and design production-ready solutions tailored to their data, driving significant, quantifiable outcomes.

Gain firsthand insights into the operational intricacies of investors—their complex data infrastructures, internal systems, and unique challenges. Your observations will inform platform enhancements that elevate the experience for all clients. Collaborate closely with our founders and engineering team, where your contributions will have a substantial impact as we iterate rapidly and reshape the workflows of the world’s most sophisticated investors.

What You'll Do

  • Engage directly with customers—create customized integrations and data pipelines, hold regular meetings to grasp their evolving requirements, and design and implement new workflows from inception to deployment.

  • Analyze and optimize—troubleshoot issues related to data retrieval quality, LLM performance, and data ingestion in live production settings.

  • Collaborate with AI Deployment Managers to enhance adoption and explore new use cases.

  • Represent the voice of the customer—identify platform gaps and trends proactively, working alongside engineering and product teams to prioritize essential features, often implementing fixes yourself.

  • Leverage your solutions for broader impact—transform tailored builds into scalable integrations, and develop playbooks that facilitate future customer engagements.

What You Bring

  • 2–5+ years of experience as a software engineer or in a customer-facing technical role (e.g., FDE, solutions engineer/architect, implementation engineer), preferably in a company delivering direct solutions to clients.

  • Solid technical background—proficient in Python and SQL, capable of navigating complex datasets and real-world data challenges (PDFs, Excel files, inconsistent formats).

  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts—understanding of RAG, embeddings, LLMs, and retrieval systems. You won't train models but will adeptly debug and optimize them.

  • Customer-centric and results-driven—you are genuinely interested in understanding customers' systems, measuring success by the impact on their operations rather than your output.

  • Self-starter with a builder's mentality—when challenges arise on-site with customers, you take the initiative to resolve them. You enjoy crafting solutions and thrive on figuring out problems independently.
