About the job
Scope is changing how regulations are managed in the physical world by streamlining the way inspectors document and report standards. Manual documentation often slows down critical processes, and Scope’s technology aims to make field data collection, decision-making, and reporting much more efficient. The company is building a comprehensive dataset on the state of the built environment and the expert decisions that shape it.
With rapid revenue growth and a client base that includes major industry leaders like AstraZeneca and SpaceX, Scope is positioned for further expansion. The team brings together talent from top universities and leading firms, and has secured $4 million in seed funding, with a Series A round approaching.
Role overview
The Forward Deployed Engineer role offers end-to-end ownership of technical challenges. Rather than working from a fixed task list, this position involves engaging directly with users to identify needs, setting priorities, designing and implementing solutions, and assessing their impact. The work is hands-on and often takes place in client environments.
Client interaction and travel
About a quarter of the time will be spent onsite with clients, which may include chemical plants and industrial facilities across Europe, the US, and Singapore. When not traveling, the role is based in Scope’s Farringdon office in London, where in-person collaboration is valued for its impact on problem-solving and team culture.
What you will do
- Work alongside inspectors in factories and chemical plants to understand and improve their workflows.
- Partner with clients to address operational challenges, implement new solutions, and support successful rollouts.
- Develop and refine client-facing features, including data migrations and workflow optimizations.
This position is suited to those who want to help shape the next generation of inspection software in a rapidly evolving, AI-driven landscape.
