Role Overview & Mission

The Forward Deployed Engineer (Echo) serves as the sustainability engine within the Palantir Center of Excellence. While FD Delta focuses on building solutions and FD Partner drives value, FD Echo ensures that what has been constructed continues to operate effectively — at scale, consistently, and with increasing business integration over time. This role takes charge of solutions during productionalization and is vital in preventing capability atrophy, which refers to the gradual decline in value when solutions are not maintained, improved, or integrated into business operations.

The FD Echo position is distinct and crucial, blending technical expertise with operational and enablement competencies. It is ideally suited for engineers motivated by the challenge of creating enduring solutions, rather than merely functional ones.

This is a Forward Deployed role, requiring travel between 10-30% (approximately 2-6 nights per month) on average, with fluctuations depending on project needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with FD Delta on productionalized solutions, assuming responsibility for sustainability, ongoing performance, and business uptake.
  • Design and update Productization & Lifecycle Management plans for all solutions under your purview — encompassing versioning, dependency management, and sunset criteria.
  • Utilize Palantir Foundry observability tools and AIP Observability to monitor solution health metrics; proactively identify degradation signals and initiate tuning cycles as needed.
  • Work closely with business unit teams to promote user adoption, build user confidence, and uncover expansion opportunities within productionalized capabilities.
  • Create and curate enablement materials — including documentation, training guides, and reusable templates — to gradually lessen reliance on CoE engineering resources.
  • Support the Recurring Value Realization process for assigned use cases.
