Role overview
This Forward Deployed Engineer role is based in San Francisco and requires full-time, in-person presence (five days a week). As an early team member, you will work closely with clients and Chalk’s machine learning teams to deliver tailored technical solutions and improve the company’s infrastructure. Projects span industries like healthcare, finance, and recommendation systems, with applications including cancer detection, fraud prevention, and product recommendations.
What you will do
- Design and implement Chalk’s technology solutions for customers, learning the platform’s infrastructure and optimizing integrations.
- Work closely with Engineering and Sales teams to deliver projects.
- Act as the main technical contact for clients during both pre-sales and post-sales, supporting onboarding and ongoing needs.
- Advise clients as their requirements change and new product features become available.
- Contribute to hiring by participating in Engineering team interviews.
Requirements
- Technical background in software development or machine learning model development.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in backend software engineering.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
This position is not hybrid. While Chalk offers flexibility for unavoidable conflicts, the expectation is a full-time, in-office schedule.
